Waxwings at Dartmouth

Late yesterday afternoon I spent a short time with Waxwings on the Dartmouth campus. They mostly spent the time I was there sitting high in a tree. Only a few came down into the very dark shade and then only briefly. Most of them were Cedar Waxwings as seen in the photos immediately below.

But there were some Bohemian Waxwings too. Here is a sequence of one trying and failing to land on a branch high in a tree next to another Bohemian and a Cedar.


 
And here is a Bohemian I managed to photograph.
