Ducks along the Connecticut April 2016

Wednesday this week I took a morning trip up the Connecticut River to Orford and then back down the Vermont side to Norwich. There seemed to be Wood Ducks “everywhere”, but most were out of range of my camera and lens. I saw them at Wilson’s Landing, in the river along River Road, at Grant Brook, in Lyme, at Campbell Flats, and at several spots along Route 5 and River Road in Norwich.

There were a pair of Goldeneyes along River Road in Lyme.  In Lyme I also got a nice pair of Hooded Mergansers in Lyme and even a Common Grackle while I was waiting in vane for Wood Ducks to swim by. Here are the Hoodies.
