A friend and I had a nice season warm-up skate this morning on Storrs Pond in Hanover. The ice was very nice — not perfectly smooth, but close enough. We got there early when the sky was clear, but by the time we left it had clouded over.
It looked like perhaps only two people had skated there before us. At the far end someone had done some swirls.
There was a very nice area of clear, dark ice in a sheltered area near a peninsula .
