Bog Mountain with SRKG

A beautiful early spring day in mid-February found a group of 15 hiking SRKG Trail 7 in Wilmot, NH yesterday. The hike was led by Nick Baer who provided interesting information on the natural world we were experiencing: animal habits and tracks, moose browse, bear-clawed beech trees, forest types, sugar maple groves. We paused briefly for a group photo on the windy summit before dropping a short distance down the lee side for lunch. In the slide show that follows note the bear claw marks on the beech trees.

Although not part of the SRKG, several of us discussed Mount Cardigan during the hike. If you click HERE you can see Sunapee, Ragged, and Kearsarge from the top of Cardigan after you zoom in to the right spots in the top panorama.

You can also type SRKG in the Search box of my Blog page and see photos and read about 5 other hikes and SRKG trails.
