Mid-afternoon yesterday, I found a pair of Bald Eagles near Lake Mascoma in Lebanon, NH. They were in the same set of trees as two weeks earlier. This time I tried to slowly approach from a direction where the sun would not be directly at me like before. I managed to get some side lit shots of them perched and flying.
Here is the best shot I got of a perched eagle. It was a struggle to get a clean shot without a tangle of branches.
Below is a four-second sequence of one of the pair flying.
There must be good hunting in these fields. A week earlier I found this Red-tailed Hawk in the same area.
