A friend told me about the winter “robins” he has had in his yard for quite a while. He knew they were snow buntings but figured if he had them they must be everywhere. Well we have had 100 common redpolls in our yard since Christmas and over 200 recently, but I don’t think they are “everywhere”, though maybe they are. I’d happily trade 50-100 of “our” redpolls for a dozen of his snow buntings. In any case Jann and I stopped by his yard to see them this morning.
