Yesterday I spent, literally, one minute with the Sunapee loon mother and her chick, “Penny”. The light and the water were terrible for photography, and we were just passing through. But I got a few quick shots of wing spreading, feeding, and begging.
How do I know the adult loon was the mother? She was banded earlier this year, and I caught the bands in one of my photos.
