For the last three mornings the Upper Valley was blessed with fog and freezing fog. I did not get out until Sunday afternoon, and then I was photographing for only a short time. But the fog persisted all day.
I drove around Lake Mascoma. The lake was very still and mirror-like. There was fog and a lone kayaker. A young couple pushed a stroller with two small children along the rail trail.
Here is a photo from 4 PM Sunday afternoon.
I got out early Monday morning and looped through Lebanon, Meriden, and Enfield. Not far from home I saw a nice collection of trees in the fog.
The old mills in downtown Lebanon formed a backdrop for some rapids in the Mascoma River.
In Meriden I got the two photos below.
Looping through Enfield I came across a red fox who looked a bit ragged. I managed to get a few shots out my car window. Here is one.
Tuesday, shortly before noon I was surprised to see freezing fog (frost) on some of the trees in the valley of Etna. Here is a pair of photo from a brief hike near the village.
Here is a slide show of other photos I took Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday this week. All but two of the photos in this post were taken within 5 miles of my home, and the other two were within 10 miles, as the crow flies.
