The Mascoma Slalom was held yesterday near the Packard Hill covered bridge in Lebanon, NH, somewhat later than normal due to high water. Here is a link to the 50th Slalom in 2013.
This year I photographed the kayak race from several vantage points. Only two of the photos in the slide show below were shot at faster than 1/100 sec. All but 9 were taken between 1/5 and 1/40 sec. Why? I think blurred action shows action much better than ultra shape photos, especially when moving water is involved.
