I was fortunate to be able to spend some quality time with a male Pine Warbler yesterday in Sunapee. He sang almost constantly and fed on small caterpillars. Only once did I briefly see a second bird that could have been his mate. I did not see any evidence of a nest. At one point a Yellow-rumped Warbler briefly entered the area so the last two photos in the slide show below are of that bird.
It was fairly dark in the area I was shooting so many of the exposures of the Pine Warbler were 1/40 or 1/50 sec at ISO 800 or 1600. Needless to say I discarded many images because the bird or its head was moving.
