Wilson’s Landing

Just off Route 10 north of Hanover, Wilson’s Landing is a small area that attracts ducks in spring on a piece of water that is separated from the Connecticut River by a long peninsula. The photo below, looking south in mid-September, shows this peninsula with the Connecticut River on the right.

Below is a view of this sheltered body of water in late October with the peninsula on the right. Often a bald eagle will perch in the tall tree.

At sunset one November, it looked like this.

And a view one late April.

On the left shore of this piece of water is the Fullington Farm Trail which can be hiked south.

In early April, 2023, I took the following four photos of Wood Ducks.  The third photo shows a pair joined by a Green-winged Teal.  The fourth photo shows a pair mating.

Here are a few more photos from Wilson’s Landing, a great spot for a quick stop on the way to Grant Brook in spring.
