At the northern border of Norwich along Route 5 is Stevens Road. Most of the road is in Thetford. I rarely consider it a destination, but I do check it out when in the area. I keep looking for meadowlarks there, but no luck so far. However, this is a great site to spot American Kestrels.
It also provides a nice view of Smarts Mountain in NH.
I have not photographed many species along Steven Road, but I have found some nice ones including unusual Horned Larks.
American Kestrels are common. In fact I photographed a pair mating. You can see the whole mating sequence if you CLICK HERE.
