Mink Brook Nature Preserve

Mink Brook Nature Preserve is located south of the center of Hanover along Route 10 just north of Mink Brook.  Parking is available in the pull-off by the trailhead to the preserve on Brook Road east of Route 10.  There is also parking west of Route 10 that leads to a trail along Mink Brook to the Connecticut River.

Mink Brook to the west (a nice walk but not in the actual preserve)

The Upper Valley Land Trust collaborated with the Hanover Conservancy to purchase this area, helped by substantial gifts from Dartmouth College and Brian and Allie Quinn, and now holds the conservation easement. When I hike the Quinn Trail through the preserve, I think fondly of my informal advisor and sometime tennis opponent, Brian Quinn.

Except for the Cedar Waxwing photo, all of the bird photos here were taken on the east side of Route 10 in the Mink Brook Nature Preserve.
