Milton Frye Nature Area

Milton Frye Nature Area is off Route 5 in Norwich.  Turn into the Marion Cross School and then into the first parking area to your right.  Several trails begin at the far end of the parking area. This area is owned by Norwich and conserved by the Upper Valley Land Trust and is also called the Norwich Nature Area.

Milton Frye Nature Area

Milton Frye, the long serving and much loved Principal of the Marion Cross School, was my companion with his wife, Carolyn, on two long treks in Nepal — Annapurna and Everest Base Camp.

Birding in the Milton Frye Nature Area

Many of the photos here were taken during three rainy, cold days in May, 2007 when a mini-fallout occurred.  The resident birds are those expected in woods and a meadow.
