Bog Road

Bog Road is a place I normally go for fall foliage, not birds.  Yet I’ve found some nice species there, and you might also.  From Enfield Center (“Fish Market”) take Route 4A east then right turn onto Bog Road at the spot shown below.

George Pond starts at this corner, and it and the small boat launch a bit farther along are worth a look. I normally stop at the bridge about a mile from 4A and then at about 1.5 miles. To the west is Enfield Wildlife Management Area. Here is a view from the bridge looking at the WMA.

Below is the view from the second spot. I took all the bird photos from here except for the cardinal, great blue herons, and ring-necked ducks, which were at George Pond.
