This page houses a growing collection of special subjects. Some of the galleries that you can reach by clicking the thumbnails below were taken during an intense several hours. Some were taken over a longer but time-limited period. Some are a collection of images taken over the years.

Kids

Photographing kids enjoying life is a joy. Here are some of my favorites.

Fifteen Days with LX3

All of the images in this gallery were taken during the first 15 days I owned a Panasonic LX3 camera. This is an unusual point-and-shoot model with a narrow \"zoom range\" (only 2.5x) but a fast, wide, and close focusing lens. It has plenty of manual control and all the features I normally use are reachable without entering menus.

Contra Dance

I photographed contra dances in Woodstock and Norwich, Vermont for Upper Valley Life. Here are some of the photos from those events.

Peregrine

Click this 3-week-old peregrine chick photo and you will be taken to a series of pages that show two years of breeding on Holt\'s Ledge in Lyme, NH.

Guitar Building

I photographed a guitar building course at the Vermont Instruments School for Upper Valley Life. Here are some of the images I took.

Milton Frye

Here are some photos from Milton Frye Nature Area in Norwich, VT. How many of the birds can you identify? If you rest your cursor over a thumbnail image name of the bird should appear. Be sure to see page 2.

Banding Bicknell\'s

Chris Rimmer of the Vermont Center for Ecostudies invited me to join him on Mount Mansfield while he banded Bicknell\'s Thrushes as part of an ongoing (19 year!!!) project. Here are some photos from the trip.
