It is wet on both sides of the road at the start, and you should immediately be seeing birds.
Just a few yards from my car, I spotted two juvenile Cooper’s Hawks in a far tree. They seemed unconcerned by my presence.
All of the photos here were taken within about 200 yards of my car, except for the Palm Warblers that I had to walk farther to see.
It was June 30 when I photographed Palm Warblers about 1/4 mile from the entrance. I believe they were nesting, but I can’t be certain. If so, this would be at the extreme southern extent of their nesting range.
