Jann and I traveled to Concord yesterday. My purpose was to try to find some interesting birds in an unfamiliar region. Her purpose was to attend a weaving workshop. I learned that it helps to know the territory or get really lucky when you only have a few hours to search for birds in early spring.
But the day wasn’t a complete loss for me. Less than a mile from our Etna home, I spotted a pair of Wood Ducks in a small wet area. I turned around and got some photos from my car window. The ducks moved to the back of the area, but did not leave.

There were nice colors at sunrise this morning. Amazingly, this is a view looking southwest toward Ascutney.
