In June I joined Chris Rimmer, Kent McFarland, and Pat Johnson of the Vermont Center for Ecostudies on Mount Mansfield while they banded Bicknell’s Thrushes as part of an ongoing project. It was foggy when we arrived, and as the afternoon and evening wore on it got foggier and darker, except for a brief clearing between 7:30 and 8:30 pm. I got this photo of Smuggler’s Notch during that brief window.
