After photographing pickleball (!!!) in Claremont yesterday, I spotted a Great Egret along the Sugar River in Newport. I had not read the two earlier reports of this bird being in the area so I wasn’t looking for it. But its very white plumage was hard to miss. I spent 15 minutes with the egret. It did not seem to mind my presence. It caught a few small fish while I was there. Here are a few photos.
