Wild Turkey Up Close in Etna


Two days ago I had my second very close encounter with a wild turkey in less than a month. The first time the sun was shining brightly. This time the light was softer, the turkey was in my back yard, and I was able to get a number of photos with a fairly short lens (300mm). The photo below is not cropped.  The other photos here were either not cropped or minimally cropped.

The photo below was cropped vertically but not horizontally.

Last month, when I also got close to a turkey, the light was very harsh. With a 300mm lens I got all of the turkey plus a lot of very messy background. So I switched to a longer lens and got some dramatic close ups. Here is one of the photos I got.
