Jomolhari Trek in Bhutan

In November of 2014, a good friend and I did a challenging 6-day trek in northwestern Bhutan. We crossed three high passes, the highest just over 16,000 ft, but they were on average 2,500 feet lower than a previous trek in Nepal.

The photo above shows the lower of the two Tsho Phhu lakes located above 14,000 ft near the Jomolhari base camp which is also called Jangothang.  Jangothang is widely considered one of the most spectacular camp sites in the Himalayas.
