Clouds in Motion at Sunset

Yesterday was the first day for almost forever that it did not rain, although it did threaten at times. So I celebrated by making this video with my iPhone using a great, inexpensive app called King Camera. I set it to shoot one frame every 3 seconds and create a movie at 24 fps. So if my math and logic are correct the  motion is sped up by a factor of 72.

The video was slightly edited in Photoshop CS6. That appears to be an excellent tool for editing videos, and one that I already owned.  I had previously purchased Premier Elements to edit videos but never got around to using it much. I’m really a still photographer at heart.

You might see some interesting things in this video:

A “moon” comes and goes. This is actually a flare spot caused by the camera looking into the sun.

Clouds in different  layers of the atmosphere move in different directions.  This to me is the most interesting part of the video.

Near the end some contrails appear.

I hope you enjoy one of my first attempts with video.
